The Hunger Games Review!

Last night, at midnight, we saw The Hunger Games and WE LOVED IT!

We read all three books awhile ago and became obsessed!
The movie was amazing because it followed the book so well!

The Twin Spin loved:

-EVERYTHING! LOL :)

-The Cast... They could not have casted it more perfectly!
-Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen: SO beautiful, so talented, and we love her speaking voice!

-Lenny Kravitz as Cinna: Excellent performance, I think everyone fell in love with Cinna!

-Liam Hemsworth as Gale Hawthorne: Umm HELLO GORGEOUS! After reading the books, we became huge Gale fans! We think him and Katniss love each other so much and should be together! Liam far exceeded our expectations!

We saw Liam at a Miley Cyrus concert!

-Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark: Although we are Team Gale, you can't not like Peeta! He is just so sweet! Josh was perfect! Girls were literally swooning! Ha!

The rest of the tributes: Amandla Stenburg as Rue: So cute and smart!, Alexander Ludwig as Cato: HOT HOT HOT!, Leven Rambin as Glimmer: Beautiful, Dayo Okeniyi as Thresh, and Isabelle Fuhrman as Clove!
-Stanley Tucci as Caesar Flickerman: You won't stop smiling with him!
-Wes Bentley as Seneca Crane, Elizabeth Banks as Effie Trinket, and Woody Harrelson as Haymitch Abernathy!

-Taylor Swift's "Eye's Open" for the soundtrack!
-The crazy outfits in the capitol!
-Cinna's gold eyeliner!

The Twin Spin didn't love:

-Gale should have been in it more!
-A few of the camera angles made us a little dizzy!
-The movie did not show as many of Katniss' thoughts as the book did, but that's understandable!

Overall, The Hunger Games deserves an A+ and
we recommend it to everyone: girls and guys!

XOXO,
The Twin Spin

  1. Great review Twin Spin. This is a colorful and entertaining film, and I was constantly wrapped up in it as a drama. It isn't the kind of bombastic event we usually get as a franchise blockbuster and for that I’m thankful. It also helps that the ensemble cast is nothing short of amazing either, and that Jennifer Lawrence's career will hopefully totally hit super-start status after this because she's great as well. Check out my review when you can.

  2. Thank you! After reading the book we were nervous that the movie wouldn't live up to our expectations, but we thought that it did! We commented on your review, which was great!

  3. I had been hoping for a movie ever since I first read the books, so the moment it came out I hit the midnight showing - and found myself very impressed! At first I was skeptical of Josh as Peeta, but he went above and beyond my expecations! That also goes for Jennifer! I knew she was a great actress from her job as Mystique in Xmen First Class, but she took the character of Katniss to new heights and for that I am grateful! She really fit her character persona, and I am glad they chose her over the others in line for the role. The movie actually gave more life and character to the other tributes, especially Cato. He made me actually like the blood thirsty character. At first he was just a pretty face out to win, but by the end his character had more layers which I think his ending monologue gave him. Amandla was a fantastic Rue, and I absolutley adored her. Although I really think the relationship between Rue and Katniss was rushed I still enjoyed what they did have. That also goes for Peeta and Katniss. I do not think the movie completley covered the deep bond between the two that was formed in the arena, and the love Peeta felt for her ever since they were children. With all the hugging they did they almost felt more like friends than the star crossed lovers of District 12. But besides those minor drawbacks the movie was just fantastic and I cannot wait for Catching Fire!
